Bees and Jars

Is it just a coincidence that the bees showed up in Lily's room before any of the events even occurred? Throughout the book so far, religious themes have been present. Do the bees and jars symbolize something greater? Lily has also received signs, that may or may not be from god. Her first sign, that her jar was wide open, was interpreted by Lily as a sign to leave. Then again, when she was walking, she noticed a field being sprayed with pesticides. She took this to mean either she was going to be destroyed or be saved. Do you guys think that there may be some hidden meaning behind the bees and jars that we will discover?
