Ever since Lily ran away with Rosaleen the thoughts of living with T-Ray always come to her. If she really hated living with him so much then shouldn't she forget about him and just be focussing on her new life? Do the thoughts of T-Ray come to her because she misses him?
Of course she misses him! No matter how terrible, abusive, and nasty a parent is, a child will always love them. Its almost as if they are programmed to forever love their parents. Lily will never be able to fully let go of her father the same way she has never let go of her mother.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Alex, Lily was always desperate for T-Ray's love, even though she knew that she'd never get it. Lily will always think of T-Ray and miss him. You can't just magically forget someone that you've lived with for fourteen years, no matter how hard you try.
ReplyDeleteI think from the way she expresses it, he is definitely in her heart but I do get the sense that even though she misses her dad, she really misses her mom even more.
ReplyDeleteI bet that she does miss him, but not a lot. I think that she will miss him more when we read the book.
