Lily's Journey

I don't think this journey, that Lily is on, is about finding her mother anymore, I beleive that it's about finding herself. She's been without a mother all her life and she thinks that if she finds out more about her mother, her life will be complete, bit it won't and this is why I believe the end result will be Lily figuring out how to love her life without her mother. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?
