This post will not feature and questions, it is just for me to reflect on the novel.
Throughout this whole novel, I have been trying to figure out who "replaced" Lily's mother and became her motherly figure. I was dumbfounded when August explained that Lily must find a mother inside herself, and that she cant expect an outside force to mother her. August explained that the mother acts as a power inside of her, one that she can rely on when she is feeling alone or sad.
I finally found out who her new motherly figure is!!! It's her!!! I would have never guessed that it would be her. Although many women around her have helped guide her, the "mother" was inside of her this whole time. Wow.
