Your jar is open

In chapter 2 when it says " Lily Melissa Owens, your jar is open" what do you guys think this metaphor means? When I first read it I thought it meant that this was Lily's chance to leave her "old life" and T-Ray and start a new one with Rosaleen. That her "jar" was open and she could get out (leave). The open jar represents her chance of escape. Just wanted to here everyone's thoughts.

  1. I agree that this quote is a metaphor for Lily's escape, but I don't think it's about her starting a new life with Rosaleen, I think the quote is saying that it's time for her to find herself and figure out how to move on from her mothers death.
